I was using the double black diamond and loved it. But, when the Ruby came out the Kevlar gave me more spin and shaping of my dinks and drives. I immediately switched to the Ruby with the DBD as my backup paddle!
Love the paddle all-around with one exception . . the infinity "edgeless" paddle has a white material around the paddle which is pretty brittle and "fragile". Dropped it 12 inches from my hand to the court and it cracked and a large chip fell off.
Would have been nice if the would have had cleaning instructions with the paddle, now the Kevlar fibers are popping up on the face of the paddle.
I like this paddle a lot. I have more control when hitting. It's light as well, and the thickness of the paddle is just right.
Great paddle. I had been playing with the Double Black Diamond (DBD) paddle for several months. That paddle improved my game considerably in terms of spin and control, and I was happy with it. However, since I'm a high top-spin player, I decided to give the RUBY paddle a try. The RUBY definitely provides more spin and a bit more control at the kitchen. It has the same weight feel and profile as the DBD paddle so transitioning did not affect my game at all. It only improved it.
This paddle is my new all time favorite. I swapped from a Selkirk Power Air Invikta to this. The transition time from the two was super fast, only about 4 hours before I was dominating. The control is way better than my last paddle, and my serves actually stay in this time. The power air is waay too poppy for my style of play.
I just purchased the Six Zero Pro Tour Bag (Black and White). The Six Zero company lives up to the same high standards it has for their paddles and applies those standards to this bag. It is made of quality materials. The seams don't fray like other bags. The pockets all zip perfectly and the amount of room it has is just incredible. There are a ton of pockets that hold several paddles, a place for your keys, wallet, phone, glasses, shoes, balls, a set of extra clothing, and much more space for anything else you need to take to the courts. The bag is very roomy yet it is still compact. There are two ways to carry it, as a backpack or as a duffel bag. The materiel is kind of rubberized and stays very clean, any spills or dirt is easy to clean off. Highly, Highly recommend this bag and any other product Six Zero puts out.
I was a 3.5 when I started with the paddle and use to play with Vatic pro. This paddle completely changed my game and brought lot more control to my game. I still get plenty of power but control and rates are amazing with this paddle.
I purchased my first Six Zero DBD in June 2023! It improved my game with control, spin, pop & faster hands due to low swing weight. I recently purchased a new DBD and have let players in my complex try out my older one. Now 30 players have purchased and use the paddle here in SW Florida! The paddle sells itself! Great job 6.0
Why does Six Zero keep launching new paddle with little to no inventory to support the launch??? Then they ask to register so you can be notified when stock arrives, but the inventory quantities that arrive last less than 15 minutes before they are out again. I guess it’s time to go elsewhere for my paddle needs.
Great Paddle, subtle refinements including more spin and a bit more control at the kitchen. I am not sure it's necessary to upgrade if you already own the DBD, but I have used both extensively now. I feel like the Kevlar face gives those looking for more spin a bit of an advantage, and slightly more control. I did add weight (throat area) to my DbD but have not with the Ruby and don't feel the need to do so. I will be interested to see how long the face texture lasts to retain that edge on spin. This paddle stands out in a sea of raw carbon - Fit and Finish is awesome, and I have paired it with six.zero overgrip and edge tape for a winning combination!
Received the back in stock email and tried to order within 30 minutes only top find out they were out of stock .... is this a glitch in the system? Surely if you have any level of inventory you would not sell out that quickly. I've been waiting patiently but looking more and more at the Joola Ben Johns. Chop chop boys!!!!!
Pop is good and the spin is also. I'm impressed by the sweet spot which seems to go to the edges. Only improvement would be if it was an elongated paddle .
