Graduating from my first paddle, a basic one, I did a fair amount of research to choose a new paddle. The opportunities to demo paddles are not plentiful where I live, but I did get to play with a small variety of them via other players and a coach. Noting those paddles’ features and play styles, and observing how I played, I assessed that I wanted lots of control with not a ton of power/pop. All signs point to the 16mm Ruby so I went for it… and it has not disappointed. My game has evolved with the help of this paddle. I can now accomplish shots that I had planned before but found challenging to pull off. And having the Ruby’s spin available has been a nice bonus that I am growing into. The weight of the paddle is also great - I really don’t think about holding it, it’s just effortless there. And given that the weight is so good, exchanges at the kitchen are quite natural and enjoyable… and quite often won.

I have natural backhand spin and slice that the Ruby enhanced even more than I thought possible. I transitioned from an edgeless 13mm to this Ruby 16mm absolutely seamlessly. I had no adjustment whatsoever. The grit is phenomenal for those with spin and those who want to add spin. If you’re considering this one try it out. You won’t be disappointed.

The hand feel is good, need to take time to adjust myself for the pops. Only played for 3 games, the winning numbers are incredible increased. The spin is great.

Hard to sum up this paddle, touch spin long game power short game pop. Does feel like an extension of my arm. If you’re looking for a total package paddle give the Ruby a go!

The Ruby as received felt good, but I felt it could be a tad better. I added about 4grams of weight and now it feels practically perfect for swing weight, balance, and overall weight. I've played as well as I ever have with the Ruby paddle. I'll keep the Ruby as long as it lasts, which I can't see why it won't be a pretty long time. Price was fair after using referral discount. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to improve their game. Give it a try!
