Great paddle with pop and control at net and baseline. Love it but coming from an elongated paddle it takes some time to get used too. I gave it a 4.9 because I’d love to see the edgeless power just like this but elongated?
So I own a Black Diamond Power paddle which I love due to the off the charts power and pop it provides. That being said, it is pretty hard to control and I was hitting a lot of balls deep. I then bought a Ruby which is a very plush feeling paddle with not nearly the power or pop of the Black Diamond. The Ruby gave me a lot more control but I am an aggressive player that likes controlled power and pop at the kitchen line. After reading other reviews on the Infinity Black Diamond I decided to give that a go. This paddle is AWESOME! It splits the difference beautifully between the power of the regular Black Diamond and the control of the Ruby. This paddle has great pop at the kitchen and controlled power from the baseline. The fiberglass face on this paddle is very gritty and spins the heck out of the ball. Other people have said it has a pronounced dead spot if not hit in the sweet spot of the paddle but I do not find it to be an issue and do not feel it is any more "dead" than any other paddles. Overall I couldn't be happier with the Infinity Black Diamond.
New to the sport - my 1st paddle & I love it ! Feels like an extension of my hand ‘. Able to reach further & return with more power, when needed 👍
I have a Ruby and played with the DBD 14 mm. However, the infinity BD has quickly become my favorite and main paddle.
I felt with the Ruby it was too heavy and affected my hand speed at the kitchen. The DBD was an all around great control paddle but I found myself wanting more out of my drives.
The infinity BD answered all my personal wants and style. The paddle was quick for me to adapt to as far as control and surprisingly felt like my drops and dink were just as good if not better than my Ruby. While the Ruby did exceed the BD in the spin department the BD isn’t too far off.
The only con is that hitting the ball outside the sweet spot made the ball die.
Would recommend this paddle if your looking for power while already have good drops and dinks and can accurately keep the ball in the sweet spot.
great spin power and control... its my go to paddle now... i really love it
Definitely my favorite paddle. Immense control and great spin. Highly recommend it!
Plenty of Pop and spin definitely can control with this paddle.
My wife (3.25) asked me to find the best paddle for her. I did a massive amount of research, ended up in John Kew's database and found that Infiniity Black Diamond Power had the perfect balance of power, control, and massive spin. Now in her 3rd week, she absolutely loves it.
I’ve been very happy and impressed with BD Infinity paddle. I have about 15 hours of play on I’ve adjusted well to the touch and swing power needed to be consistent. The Fiberglass face is surprisingly soft on control shots and the paddle has good power as well as pop when playing aggressively at the baseline drives and kitchen put aways. The paddle does twist in the hand more than some other paddles I’ve played with when you miss the sweet spot but being edge less and already having a low swing weight I’ve added 3 grams per side to the paddle to shore up the stability. I highly recommended the BDI if you want a paddle that you can use for any play style and easily customize with perimeter weighting.
