Advanced Next Gem Technology: Black Opal
We set out to create a paddle that redefines what’s possible in power, control, and durability. The Black Opal is a rare gem in the pickleball world, built from the ground up with next-generation materials and patent-pending technologies that deliver unmatched feel and performance for players at every level.
Why choose the Black Opal?
- Designed for serious competitors and aspiring pros
- Combines explosive power with confident control and touch
- Engineered with Six Zero’s most advanced paddle innovations
- Built for tournament and high-performance recreational play
- Diamond Tough infused surface for extended texture life
G4 Aerospace Solid Foam Core
At the heart of the Black Opal is our proprietary G4 Aerospace Foam Core, a floating solid construction that optimizes energy transfer and creates a highly responsive sweet spot. The 14mm high-density design delivers fast hands and increased power while maintaining the same control you’d expect from a traditional 16mm paddle, giving you the best of both worlds.
Power Gel: Explosive Energy Layer
The Black Opal features our patent-pending Power Gel layer, engineered to amplify shot energy without compromising touch. This breakthrough design maximizes pop, adds depth to drives, and enhances precision at the net, giving you the edge in every exchange.
Shock Shield Handle Technology
With every swing, Shock Shield technology absorbs vibration and enhances feedback. This silicone injection system is built directly into the handle, reducing arm fatigue and helping you stay connected to the ball with greater comfort and confidence.
Carbon Lite Construction
Engineered with aerospace-grade Carbon Lite materials, the Black Opal delivers an ideal strength-to-weight ratio for lightning-fast maneuverability and long-lasting performance. The result is a paddle that feels light in hand but powerful on impact.
Diamond Tough Surface
The Black Opal introduces Six Zero’s patent-pending Diamond Tough infusion across the entire face, extending surface texture life by more than four times compared to industry standards. This means spin, bite, and consistency that endures match after match.
Perfectly Balanced for Precision and Power
Every detail of the Black Opal was meticulously designed to provide the ultimate balance between precision shot-making, powerful drives, and confident resets. Whether you’re attacking, defending, or dictating pace, this paddle empowers you to raise your game to the next level.
Exclusive Neoprene Cover
Each Black Opal comes with a custom Six Zero neoprene cover, protecting your paddle in style and ensuring you’re always ready for peak performance.
Step onto the court with confidence and experience the next level of power, precision, and control with the Black Opal.

Product FAQ
So far good
My game has improve since using this paddle.
love this racquet!
Great feel to striking the ball. I was concerned about a small sweet spot and inconsistent response as mention by online reviewers, but I have not experienced any of that. Previous paddle was DBD 14 mm.
Love this paddle, the feel and power are great, once you get used to the Opal it’s hard to switch to anything else. The sound and thonkyness is addicting.
The pop is incredible and the control for soft shots is wonderful. You have to learn how to drive this “Ferrari” but it’s worth it.
I got a bubble in my paddle, sent a request for a replacement with the video proof of purchase and everything, the chat went cold and I never heard back.
I initially purchased one of the pre-production models about 4 months before it went public and I loved the feel of the paddle. I used the Black Opal in a couple tournaments and finished on the podium in all of them. After about 4 weeks I saw a one inch dent near the top off the paddle, and I saw some other people post about the same issue, but it didn't affect play. After a couple months, that portion of the paddle started to deteriorate. I sent it back to Six-Zero and they sent me a new paddle within 10 days. The new paddle feels even more solid than the initial one I received. I do use lead on the throat of the paddle and I really love the balance of touch near the kitchen paired with power at the baseline. After using the Double Black Diamond for about 18 months, I would highly recommend switching to the Black Opal.
I really want to love this paddle, and I do most of the time. The often cited small sweet spot is real, and I’m playing around with set up to improve. I loved my double black diamonds, and I want to feel the same about this paddle. The power, pop and spin are legitimate, but that tiny sweet spot is challenging. Only two weeks in, so giving it 4 out of 5 to account for my adaptation.
