The Flying Frenchman Joins Six Zero: Welcome Jay Devilliers
Six Zero Pickleball is proud to welcome Jay Devilliers to the team, one of the most recognizable and respected competitors in professional pickleball.
Known across the sport as “The Flying Frenchman,” Jay has built his reputation through relentless competitiveness, elite athleticism, and a versatile style that makes him dangerous from anywhere on the court.
For Six Zero, this partnership is about more than results. It is about shared values. Innovation. Community. And the constant pursuit of improvement.
Jay embodies that mindset.
Built Through a Lifetime of Sport
Jay’s journey as an athlete began long before pickleball.
Growing up in France as one of six children, sports were simply part of everyday life. Soccer, tennis, skiing, team handball, rugby, table tennis, badminton, and swimming all played a role in shaping the competitor he would become. Each sport contributed something different, building the versatility and athletic instincts that define his game today.
Of those sports, tennis ultimately became the closest fit. Jay developed his game internationally before continuing his career at Wichita State University, where he competed at the collegiate level while earning his degree.
That tennis background still shows today in his movement, court awareness, and ability to manage the rhythm of long rallies.
Discovering Pickleball
Jay’s introduction to pickleball came almost by accident.
In 2019, he entered the US Open pickleball championships somewhat on a whim. What started as curiosity quickly turned into opportunity. The strategy, pace, and competitive atmosphere immediately clicked.
By 2020, Jay made the decision to pursue pickleball professionally. The timing proved challenging as the pandemic temporarily slowed the professional tour, but once tournaments resumed, his progress accelerated quickly.
By the 2021 season, Jay had firmly established himself as a consistent threat on the pro stage.
A Versatile and Strategic Style
One of the things that separates Jay from many players on tour is his versatility.
He can play aggressive when the moment calls for it, but he is equally comfortable defending and resetting until the right opportunity appears. His length and reach allow him to stay long on the court, take time away from opponents, and create pressure in ways few players can replicate.
After recovering from knee surgery, Jay has seen significant improvements in his movement and confidence. That renewed trust in his body and his game has translated into stronger performances and sharper decision-making during critical moments.
His mindset remains simple: learn, adapt, and keep improving one percent every day.
Competing at the Highest Level
At this stage of his career, Jay’s motivation is clear.
Competing for titles.
Making deep tournament runs.
And continuing to prove he can battle with the best players in the world.
After navigating injuries in 2024, his focus for the current season is to return to the top 10 across all three disciplines: singles, doubles, and mixed.
For Jay, the challenge itself is part of the motivation.
Family, Perspective, and the Pursuit of Greatness
Off the court, Jay’s greatest motivation comes from his family.
As a father of four, he approaches his career with a deeper sense of purpose. He wants to show his children that big dreams are worth chasing and that with enough work and belief, incredible things can happen.
That pursuit of greatness continues to fuel him every time he steps onto the court.
Why Six Zero
When Jay first connected with the Six Zero team, it was the people and the vision that stood out immediately.
Beyond the paddles, he saw a group driven by passion, innovation, and a genuine commitment to the pickleball community. Those values aligned naturally with the direction he wants to take his career.
After spending time with the paddles, Jay was equally impressed with the attention to detail across the lineup.
Each model feels distinct, with a clear purpose and identity. For a professional player competing at the highest level, that level of research and development matters.
We are excited to welcome Jay Devilliers to the Six Zero family and look forward to supporting him as he continues chasing titles, pushing his game forward, and inspiring the next generation of players.
The journey continues.
Welcome to the family and together, we’ll Go Next Level!™
