After almost a month with the Coral, it has been impressive with its truly plush feel and all-court control! This paddle gives you forgiving yet precise control with plenty of spin and good hand speed. The power is there and is not a problem for players who can generate their own power, don’t underestimate the Coral’s ability!
Sweet spot on this is good out of the box being the upper half of the paddle on the hybrid shape. If you hit more towards the centre then I’ve found adding a small amount of weight at 4 and 8 o’clock position works very well.
After coming from a Boomstik, the Coral will be my new main, I don’t find myself missing the power of the Boomstik and much prefer the all-court control of the Coral and its plush feel.
I own all of the “Next Gem” paddles. I can honestly say that the Black Opal is the finest paddle on the market in the right hands. This paddle is for advanced players who can consistently make contact in the center of the paddle and can impart multiple types of spin. Right now my main paddle is the Coral Hybrid and my tournament paddle is the Coral Elongated. Once the Black Opal comes out with an elongated version, this will change the Black Opal Hybrid/Black Opal Elongated.
A great bag, plenty of space lots of pockets to organise all your travel gear. I used to travel interstate and was able to pack everything I needed into one bag.
I’ve got the Coral but wanted something with a bit more punch when playing singles I bought the black Opal and balanced it up to what I like and found that it was an easy transition from the coral to the Black opal when playing singles
It gave me the little bit more punch. I needed on my drives and the result was a gold medal in a state open competition. Can’t read it highly enough.😁
I like this as much or maybe more than the boomstick.
Great combo of control and power. Dinks feel effortless and I have actually have a reset now. (1st place team pictured)
The most unique paddle I have played with thus far . Power whenever you need it, that has actually helped my backhand for some reason I am unaware of, but fine with me. Like I said its unique, and you will need to warm up to it. Once you do it becomes your sword.
By far my favorite paddle and I have tons of them. Coming from the Boomstick this paddle handles extremely well. Where I want the ball to go is exactly where it goes. The sweet spot is 2nd to none. Sooo good had to buy 2.
Like the plush feel. Is balanced and stable. Enjoying the added control and power when you need it. Welcome to the family!
This thing is sweet
I’ve played with my new Coral twice so far…really liking the feel of it…has really great dwell time, still getting used to the power side of it…but I feel good about the paddle
Superior feel on soft shots and tons of power when you need it. Best paddle I’ve played with.
Great replacement for my beloved DBD elongated-which after a full year of punishment, kinda lost its zing. Still getting used to the ‘plushness’ of the foam core, but enjoying the THONK. Added weight at 3 and 9 o’clock, butt cap—near perfection 😎
My main paddle for most of 2025 was a Selkirk Project 008. Then I wanted to try power so I got a Bread and Butter Loco. Then, it turned out I’m a paddle addict. Friday Fever, Selkirk Boomstik, RPM Friction Pro, Selkirk Luxx, Bread and Butter Shogun, Diadem Blue Core… I’ve played A LOT of paddles this year. The Coral (specifically in hybrid) is the only one that I’ve just been able to “forget about” and play. It does everything right. I think for nearly all sub-4.0 players this is the best paddle money can buy.
