More forgiving than you'd think. Has a somewhat muted sound off the face which is different. 14mm hybrid allows for confidence with hand speed. Does have some twist issues stock but perimeter weighting mitigates that.

Having played the glider/power2, this does not lose to those in terms of spin/power while providing a pleasant feel profile. If you found the coral pro lacking in the power department, give this a go. It's just the right amount of funky.

Recently purchased Boulder Opal and have around 15 hrs play time. Overall loving it so far. Excellent pace, put aways, serves, body bags and feel on the paddle. As far as soft game, dinks and drops are also very easy to be consistent with aggressive or defensive. Transition zone resets and half volleys are still hard to be consistent with due to the pop but easier than black Opal. Depends on skill level. Return of serve you have to be locked in to make good contact to not hit it out or to the net. Takes some time to adjust to the power and pop to clear unforced errors on returns and drives. Previously I have mained Black Opal for 7-8 months. Both paddles extremely powerful so without focus on topspin keeping non cross court fast pace drives within bounds is very dependent on top spin and form. Full swings always risky. Boulder Opal has dramatically more spin than my 8 month old black Opal so my 3rd shot drive consistency is up. It also responded much better to perimeter weighting than Black Opal where it is really stable even at the edges and much more forgiving. Without perimeter weighting the twist in hand is noticeable on off center hits so def need weight to increase forgiveness and sweet spot extension. For that reason you must be comfortable with heavyish paddles as mine came 8.3oz already in stock form. Biggest issue with Opal line has been the power drop/difference at the bottom portion of the paddle. The issue is somewhat still there but less so in boulder. On your 2nd shot (return)sometimes you’ll get a tough deep serve and the ball may bounce in a way to throw you off and if you hit with the throat area you give free points. Or if you mishit with bottom portion while trying to do a forehand roll out of the air. All in all I am pretty confident to say this is improved version of black opal. Kept the strenghts improved on weaknesses. Cheers

Best six-zero paddle ever! I've tried them all, and was playing with the Coral Pro when I bought the Boulder Opal. Don't get me wrong, the Coral and the Coral Pro are fantastic paddles, but I Boulder has been giving me an advantage>I didn't have in any other paddle, from resets to drives, to precision dinking, and spin. I love the sound it makes and the confidence it gives me.

Surface is fantastic if you spin with your hits, power is great, so much so I need to correct a bit and let the paddle do more work or me than my swing. A great buy so far

I don’t love how the paddle plays but I have not given a lot of time to adjust. I am a big fan of six zero.

This is the first 6.0 paddle I'v bought and did not like! I did buy, use, and like the Black Opal. It was great for my singles game. It had the power I needed from the baseline, but a little poppy at the net. So, when the Boulder Opal came out, and was supposed to offer power with more control, I thought it be a great paddle.
I do like how the paddle feels when you hit the ball in the sweet spot... it's soft, minimal vibration, powerful and satisfying. Unfortunately, hence the 3 star rating, the ball dies when hit anywhere outside the paddle's sweet spot. Very unforgiving paddle. If you can hit the sweet spot consistently, then you'll like this paddle. I'm not consistent enough to use it.
